Star came into my life in March 2003, just the cutest young Malamute I have ever seen. She has grown to be a superb little dog. She is spot on the ideal freighting height and weight for a bitch, standing 23” at the shoulder and weighing in at 74.8lb. Apart from still being the most beautiful Malamute in the world she is an absolute joy to own. She is very comical and makes me laugh all the time, she knows how cute she is and uses it to her full advantage, no matter how mischievous she is, she just looks at you in a certain coy way and you cannot get cross with her. She is very vocal, just like her dad, Timber, giving her opinion at every opportunity. She is very active and loves to run in harness, we have only run the Aviemore rally so far and in her first one (Jan 2005) she came 3^rd and the following year Jan 2006), she came 2^nd. Unfortunately, her running mates couldn’t make it up for 2007, so we had to watch, although we did manage to get out on the sled on one of the training days with a friends dogs, which she absolutely loved. She also loves agility and although we haven’t competed yet as there are very few shows up here in Scotland, she really enjoys her Sunday training sessions. We recently started clicker training and she took to it straight away. She loves learning something new that will get her the click and obviously the reward!! She is very quick to learn, I think being very food oriented helps there!! She definitely helps to keep Kodi young, even though Kodi is now nearly 12, they still play like puppies and are the best of friends. Star appeared on Blue Peter when she was just 6 weeks old with her breeder Barbara Stanier.
