It took me a long time to find the right dog to go with Star. I wanted a dog that met the original freighting breed standard, like Star, and who would compliment her. After a year long search, I found just a couple of dogs that met my criteria. One of them was too closely related to Star and the other was Fonzie. I travelled to Newcastle to meet Fonzie and he was just as nice in person as on paper. He is a real character and has a super temperament. Fonzie is an import from Sweden and so will bring fresh blood into a fantastic line and hopefully they will produce some cracking Malamutes that represent the breed as it should be. He also has a very good work ethic and loves to pull. Fonzie is a true working Malamute and has been winning just about every race he has entered. At the end of the 2006/07 season, Fonzie and his running mate Icy were crowned Working Malamutes of the year in their respective Dog and Bitch categories.
